Making A Way Where There is No Way

Community Primary School for the Poor

There are approximately 1.895 Million children in Tanzania not in school. This is due, says The Independent, because of informal fees which the poor can not afford. We want to change that with your help And make a way where there is no way

Tanzanian Children Not in School
1000000

Together with our trusted partners in Mbeya, Tanzania we want to investigate building a primary school

Mbeya is a large and impoverished city that Andy has visited many times and has developed excellent and ongoing relationships with Conqueror’s Ministries and its founder Israel Mwankenja. They work amongst the poorest communities in their city and over time Andy has seen funds well spent in a responsible way and believes this would be good soil for us to invest in.

It is a staggering fact that in this day and age that there could be 1.895 million children out-of-school children in Tanzania.

The Independent Newspaper reported in December 2019 that “A majority of children in Tanzania do not attend school due to informal fees or ‘voluntary’ parental contributions required for enrolment. This includes, among other things, the compulsory purchase of shoes. All children should be able to attend primary school regardless of whether their parents can or can’t afford to pay or see the value, perhaps never having received an education themselves. At its core, if a child fails to gain the basic skills required to contribute as a functioning member of society, the loss is vast, not just to the child or society but the nation as a whole. For those sceptical, education can ultimately reduce poverty for future generations. Studies show the cost of educating children is far outweighed by the cost of not educating them.”

We could not agree more and want to make a way where there is no way.

Project Phase Zero

Our Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) for initiating the funding of a large-scale building project is to commission what we call Phase Zero. This is the phase where we commission and architect and quantity surveyor to make plans, drawings and determine the full cost of the project.

Upon completion of this phase we can then determine the feasibility of the project, determine if more land needs to be acquired and then build up a project plan for phasing the whole project that allows us to release funds in a controlled manner checking that each phase is completed before releasing money for the next phase.

We need £375 to complete this investigation and as soon as a donation is made we will get to work looking to make a way where there is no way for at least some of those 1.895 million children.
