Following WayMaker’s incredible success with the DaySpring Academy in Zambia, we believe we have a school model that provides a solution that, once a school is financed and built, it can be self-sustaining and still make 30% of its places free or heavily subsidised to the most vulnerable.
This is achieved by charging a fee for 70% of the places to those in the community who can afford it. This allows us to pay for staff, running costs, etc., on an ongoing basis. At the same time, the remaining 30% will be supported by subsidised places and an initiative of Child Education Sponsorship from the UK.
WayMaker is currently raising the necessary funds to build a preschool for 90 children in Mbeya, Tanzania, which we hope will be completed and ready for the start of the Tanzanian School Year.
We are looking to find the sponsors we need give 27 orphans and vulnerable children the chance to be part of this amazing opportunity.
