Making A Way For Students in Africa

Football

The Only Truly Universal Language

No matter where you go in Africa you will always, without exception, see children playing football.

Regardless if anyone speaks English I can always communicate by getting a football out of the 4×4 and in seconds children will come and have a kick about with me. Football is, I believe, the only truly international language.

WayMaker is committed to making education available to every child, which includes access to not only football and football pitches, but to all sports.

We are committed to making sports available to every child in our primary and secondary school, and the community of Kitwe in Zambia, regardless of gender or finances.

Sports

We are so delighted that at the DaySpring Academy we see both boys and girls excited about all sports.

It is especially gratifying to see girls taking part in sports that were traditionally and culturally the sole domain of boys.

It is our desire to develop a sports ground for all 500 students in our school but also to make those facilities available to the wider community, particularly orphans, vulnerable children and those from the poorer parts of the community.

Donated Land

The success of the Pre School and Primary School has prompted the Zambian Department of Education, Members of Parliament and the local community to ask us to build a secondary school (Which is currently in progress).

As a result, the local government has GIVEN us a piece of land nearby to allow us to build sports facilities for the local school and community.

We are looking to raise £40,000 from your generous donations and, we hope, by having a charity auction in the summer of 2023.

So if you can help by providing things to auction at the dinner or giving a donation we would be so happy to receive it.
