Making A Way
StreetLife is a Zambian Public Benefit Organisation that exists to rebuild confidence and put a smile on a child’s face and together with their donors they have been able to do that for thousands of children this year
StreetLife is led by Lilly Mwila and her team. It has orphanages in Nkana West and Luangwa, providing homes for 50 children who have lost their parents, many to HIV and AIDS, and young people whose families simply cannot afford to look after them anymore.
Their feeding programs serve nutritious meals to children in Luangwa, Kapoto and Lukoshi, three of Kitwe’s most impoverished ‘compounds’, or slums. In the past year alone, they have served more than 30,000 free meals to some of the area’s most vulnerable children.
WayMaker is looking to help StreetLife add additional locations and is seeking an individual or company willing to give monthly to make this possible (£640/month Individual or £800/Month for a company)
StreetLife’s educational sponsorship programme also means that 300 children from all over Zambia – not just Kitwe, but also Kapiri, Kapoto, Ndola, Lufwanyama and Zambezi – are able to receive an education.
There are currently 30 Children in need of sponsorship which costs (£25/month) which WayMaker are looking to publicise through its UK and North American Partners.
