Picture a world where daily access to water – the water we drink, cook our meals, and wash with – is a luxury. While for many of us, turning on a tap is second nature, for others, this essential resource is not customary.
Consider ten-year-old Praval, who, on an ordinary morning sets out to fetch water from the local well. Unfortunately, he is unable to access water this way yet being determined to fulfil his daily chore, Praval continues on to the river to collect water. While there, he falls in and tragically loses his life in a drowning accident.
WayMaker has partnered with The Well Church (UK) and The Well Ministries (India) to bring clean and safe water to a rural community in Odisha, India. The state of Odisha is situated in East India and is home to 48 million people*. We believe that ensuring access to this basic life necessity will not only contribute to the community’s overall well-being, but will also provide an opportunity for The Well Ministries India to share the message of hope with those who may not have heard it before.
The construction of the initial borewell is set to begin in January 2024 and will mark the first of many in Odisha. Financial contributions will play a vital role in providing access to life-giving water and breaking down barriers.
Will you support by making a donation today? Your generosity will make a significant difference by bringing water to those in need which will help create happy endings for children like Praval.
