Emmanuel’s Story

Sometimes the grace of God travels further than we imagine.

Meet Emmanuel Akati, a retired public servant who now works as a cocoa farmer in Ghana. Emmanuel is a regular listener to the WayMaker-sponsored gospel broadcast on the radio, hosted by our dear friend Michael Akotia. Last Sunday, he travelled 23km from his village in Dzologbogame just to join us at church. Why? Because he wanted to tell Michael in person how the message of grace he heard on the radio has changed his life.

That’s the power of the gospel and the reach of radio.

For several years now, WayMaker has been sponsoring weekly gospel radio shows in Ghana and Kenya. Each one costs just £800 a year, which is around £15 a week, to run a one-hour broadcast that reaches literally millions of people with the good news of Jesus.

The results are extraordinary. In Kenya, just the other week, after one of our shows aired a recorded message of hope from me, more than 5,000 texts and calls flooded in from people responding to the message. And in Ghana, stories like Emmanuel’s are being written every single week as lives are touched and transformed.

We currently reach around 10 million people every week through the shows we sponsor. But with your help, we can reach even more.

Would you consider sponsoring a show for £800 and securing another year of gospel broadcast, either in Kenya or Ghana? Your gift would literally put the message of Jesus into the homes and hearts of millions.

Thank you for standing with us to make a way for the gospel to travel further than we ever could.
